Two White House advisors visited Chicago to discuss the foreign policy issues that will be talked about during the NATO/G8 Summits. The 1 advisors that visited Chicago were Ben Rhodes, Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications, and Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, Senior Director for European Affairs. During their visit, they met with the Summits’ Host Committee, local journalist, and large consular corps.
Rhodes and Sherwood-Randall have been working with “the planning task force” in Washington, DC to plan the physical planning for events and the Summits meetings at McCormick Place. Over the next few months, there will be officials meeting in Chicago from Washington and Brussels to finalize the planning of the NATO/G8 Summits.
In addition to hosting the NATO/G8 Summits, Chicago will also be hosting the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, April 23-25, 2012.
