Hillard Heintze provided the following update regarding demonstration activities in Chicago that they gained from public social media sources and was not independently verified.
5/16 – “Action to Demand a One-year Moratorium on Foreclosures and Evictions!” 10am: Rally at Jackson and LaSalle. 10:30 a.m. March to Citibank. Homeowners currently facing foreclosure by Citibank will share their stories. 11:00 a.m. March to Daley Plaza for press conference and delivery of petitions to Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart’s office.
5/19 – UPDATE “Healthcare not Warfare! Take the Fight to Rahm’s House!” on-line information indicates this is will be held on 5/19, Rally and March, Noon – 2:00 p.m. Horner Park at Irving Park. Supporters will converge on Horner Park at Irving and California and will then march to Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s house at 4228 N. Hermitage.
5/20 – UPDATE – “Queers Opposing NATO,” on-line information indicates this is now being held on Sunday: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (Rally, Action, and March) Grant Park, corner of Jackson and Columbus. CORRECTION: earlier, Hillard Heintze published an advisory message referring to a protest event as “A call to action from Chicago’s LGBTQ community.” This statement was inaccurate and should have read “A call to action from Queers Opposing NATO.”
