Titan recently attended a BOMA/Chicago Preparedness Committee Meeting and would like to pass along the following information:
CPD 1st District:
- Upcoming Events
- Shamrock Shuffle – Sunday, March 24th, 30,000 runners expected, click here for more information
- March 21, assembly at 420 N. Michigan
- March 23, assembly at 806 N. Michigan
- March 28, assembly at the Daley Center
- 1st and 18th District had heavy pedestrian traffic through 4:00 pm on Saturday for St Patrick’s Day celebrations, it was challenging but an overall success

- 1st District officers are focusing on Red and Blue Line robberies, they run missions every day
- Maintain diligence and awareness, important in the warmer months
CPD 18th District:
- Still a large focus on fake ride share drivers, make sure to confirm the licence plate of your ride
- 65 crimes in 2019 vs. 61 in 2018, Theft is the primary, then Criminal Damage, Criminal Trespass and Deceptive Practice, click here to view the 18th District February Crime Report
CPD 12th District:
- Increase in thefts, other crime stats are down
- Trend, thieves wearing real USPS uniforms in an attempt to steal packages, they usually have gym bags and not mail bags
- District is paying special attention to religious institutions and houses of worship, DHS is concerned about copy cat activity of the New Zealand attack
CFD:
- Conducting Active Shooter training in March and April, all rank and file officers will be trained, over 1,500 members of CFD and CPD
- The last Fire Safety Director class prior to summer will be in May, $150 to re-certify
- An All Hazards conference is being scheduled in July of 2020, for large occupancy locations
- Almost 60 transports on St Patrick’s Day, mostly due to alcohol consumption
