The following is information provided by BOMA/Chicago regarding the severe weather reported to reach Chicago tonight, June 12th.
According to the NWS:
- Isolated thunderstorms are likely late this afternoon (Tuesday), primarily west and south of the City, and then again at approximately 2100 hrs. this evening. Hail and high winds are possible with both of these fronts.
- A more serious system will arrive in the area tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon at approximately 1:00 pm. and continue until early evening. Hail and strong straight-line winds are likely, and tornadoes are possible. Straight-line winds could be in excess of 60 mph, before moving south and east out of the area.
- Locally isolated flash flooding is possible, but widespread risk of flooding is not likely.
Buildings are advised to take all appropriate precautions, and maintain a heightened situational awareness.
