Titan recently attended the GNMA Security and Safety Meeting, and wanted to pass along the following information:
Identifying Suspicious Behaviors and Activities:
Given recent events, and the tragedy of the Las Vegas shooting, the committee touched base on suspicious behavior to watch for in those checking-in and out of Hotels or Motels. Such suspicious behaviors include:
- Requesting specific rooms or locations
- A person who uses large amounts of cash for transactions, instead of a credit card
- A person who uses a credit card under someone else’s name
- A person who arrives with large amounts of luggage
- A person who asks unusual questions about local sites, including government, military, law enforcement, communications, or specific building operations
- Refusing cleaning service for an extended period of time
- Using exits and entrances that avoid walking through the lobby
- Leaving their room with clothing and personal items after checking out
- Changing their appearance
- Leaving the property and then returning several days later
