As of the April 13th deadline to apply for press credentials, over 2,100 journalists had applied. This number is on the lower end of the expectations between 2,000 and 2,500 journalists expected to apply. However, late request for credentials are being considered on a case-by-case basis.
Recent G20 summits brought about 3,000 reporters to Pittsburgh and between 3,000 and 5,000 reporters to Toronto. The Pittsburgh G20 summit generated about 7,000 stories that mentioned the city.
Currently, the NATO committee does not have the breakdown of U.S. media outlets vs. foreign media outlets requesting credentials.
