12th District:
There has been an increase in thefts and robberies throughout the 12th district for the month of October. To view the full crime reports, Click Here:
- Sergeant Christoph Schenk will be putting together workshops on different topics/trending crimes to be discussed.
When describing suspects, the CPD is looking for the following characteristics to aid in the identifying process:
- Shoes
- Height
- 1 other definitive characteristic you noted about the individual
Criminal Behavior Patterns:
- People working in groups or pairs
- Jumping out of cars & using getaway cars
- People wearing surgical masks or hooded sweatshirts
- Using crow bars for building break-ins through unsecured doors
Car Break-Ins:
- Don’t leave valuables, bags, GPS system, or anything of monetary value in plain sight
- Install exterior lights and cameras
- Signs should be posted with the label “Do not leave valuables in car”
Crime Prevention & Reaction:
- Stay aware of your surroundings
- Have phone & personal devices ready
- Remain calm if confronted, remember physical characteristics, and never challenge guns
- Wear backpacks underneath coats
- Call 9-1-1 if you see anything suspicious
