Police officers from Milwaukee, Philadelphia, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg, N.C. will be assisting the Chicago Police Department with protests this weekend. These officers will join about 700 Illinois State Troopers and dozens of suburban officers.
The number of officers being sent from each area is:
- Milwaukee is sending about 100 officers
- Philadelphia is sending about 68 officers
- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has not released how many officers they will be sending
The out-of-state agencies will be providing support in the field and will be following Chicago’s rules and regulations.
Also, the Cook County Sheriff’s office will be using the Cook County Jail to detail individuals arrested for serious offenses.
