- Preference will be given to local firms bidding on city contracts.
- A $300,000 grant from the MacArthur Foundation will be used to consolidate the city’s databases into a single platform.
- Ald. Ricardo Munoz introduced legislation that would limit the city’s ability to shutdown cellphone towers, specifically during the NATO/G-8 Summits.
- Ald. Proco Joe Moreno proposed that Chicago residents fill the construction jobs that are federally funded.
