Congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks on their 2013 Stanley Cup victory!
The city of Chicago has announced that the parade and rally will be Friday, June 28th. Below are the details regarding these events including rally and parade details, CTA service disruption, and street closures.
Rally Information
Where: Hutchinson Field in Grant Park
Time: 11am
Entrances: 1 entrance will be at Jackson and Michigan and a 2nd entrance will be at Congress and Michigan
Notes:
- All large bags and backpacks will be checked prior to entrance at the rally
- No coolers will be allowed
- Only unopened water bottles will be permitted
- There will be a zero tolerance for any drinking in public
Parade
Where: The parade route will start at Desplaines & Washington and end at Grant Park.
Time: 10:30am
Route: The official parade route will begin at Des Plaines Street and Washington Street and proceed east until Wabash Street. From there the motorcade will proceed east to Michigan Avenue; travel north to Randolph Street and east along Randolph to Columbus Drive.
Street Closures
- Beginning at 12:00am – All east/west streets between Roosevelt Road and Randolph Street from Michigan Avenue to Lake Shore Drive will be closed
- Congress will remain open
Public Transportation
Metra will be providing $5 round trip tickets on Friday. Bikes and alcohol will not be allowed on the trains.
CTA will be rerouting buses and running more train service. The Chicago Tribune has provided the following detail on CTA service.

More train service will be offered for the parade:
- Red Line: Trains will run about every five minutes from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Blue Line: Trains will run every six minutes between 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
- Brown Line: Longer trains will run from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
- Green Line: Longer trains will run from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Orange Line: Longer trains will run about every eight minutes from 8:45 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
- Pink Line: Longer trains will run from about 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Yellow Line: Trains will run every 10 minutes from 10 a.m.-1:45 p.m.
- Purple Line Express: From 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Purple Line Express trains will run every 15 minutes. Purple Line trains to the Loop will run express from Howard to Addison, and make a local stop at Addison.
Trains will continue to Belmont and make regular Purple Line Express stops into and around the Loop.
Purple Line Express trains to Linden will run through Belmont, then make a local stop at the Addison Red Line stop, then run express to Howard and make regular stops through Linden.
