Titan attended the BOMA/Chicago emergency preparedness committee recently and wanted to pass along the following information:
Terrorist Attacks
Types of terrorist acts since 2015 based on CPPTF Review:
- Active Shooter -8
- Stabbing – 7
- Vehicle Ramming – 6
- Suicide Bomber – 4
Building Preparedness
- Educate all key stakeholders in your building including staff, tenants, residents and management to focus on “see something say something”
- Consider engaging your tenants or residents in an educational seminar, survey their concerns, leaflets, etc.
- DHS and/or Titan is available to make presentations
- Notify CPD and OEMC if an Active Shooter drill is taking place at your site
- Consider setting an annual calendar of events for tenants or residents
- Get familiar with your evacuation plans, participate in your drills, identify your fire wardens and fire safety team, take fire prevention and safety seriously and do not wait for incident to prepare
- Fire department is available to conduct walk throughs of each building including residential buildings
- Update information on CP3
