Message from Public Sector Partners:
1st District:
There was a Business Alert for robberies occurring in the 1st District on November 27, 2017.
- The alert administered on November 27th informed that an offender had been entering convenience stores/parking garages, implying possession of a weapon, and demanding money from the register.
- These incidents have been occurring during overnight hours throughout the first district.

Upcoming Events:
- January 20th — Women’s Annual March is expected to bring in an even larger crowd than last year (250,000+)
18th District:
There was a Community Alert administered for robberies in the 18th District.
- The alert administered on December 14, 2017, informed that an offender has been approaching victims, asking for money, and once the victim’s remove their wallets, the offender(s) grab the victim’s cash, strikes the victim, and fleets on foot.
There has been a 2% increase in crime for November 2017, compared to November 2016. The total number of reported crimes for November 2017 was 84, compared to 82 reported crimes for November 2017.
The following includes the number of crimes committed for November 2017:
- 40 reports of Theft
- 17 reports of Criminal Damage
- 7 reports of Burglary
- 6 Reports of Battery
- 6 Reports of Deceptive Practice
- 59 of these crime reports have occurred in parking lots/parking garages
- 25 of these crime reports have occurred in commercial buildings or business offices

CFD:
- Registration for the next class is online and will be hosted at 440 South LaSalle from January 16th to January 18th
- 2018 training will be on all hazards
Chicago Public/Private Task Force: Monitoring Events
- A training video for Business Recovery Access Program (BRAP) is nearing completion.
- A document on City-Wide concerns is being created and will include evacuation and shelter-in-place instructions, which will be available as a poster or flyer.
OEMC:
- OEMC is developing relationships with many to conduct training on suspicious activities.
DHS:
- The Department of Homeland Security suggests reviewing procedures for identifying suspicious and unattended packages; different procedures should be implemented depending on the type of package.
