Titan attended the BOMA/Chicago emergency preparedness committee recently and wanted to pass along the following information:
ComEd Operations Power Play 2017, May 18th & 19th
- ComEd will be conducting a statewide exercise referred to as “Operation Power Play” over two (2) days Thursday May 18th and 19th

- Consider this exercise an opportunity for “testing” emergency communication
- BOMA Preparedness Committee is offering to conduct building tabletops as part of their participation
- Consider conducting a building-level exercise in connection with the statewide exercise
- There will be a virtual participation component
- This will involve a disruption to the grid and a terrorism component
Street Performers Restrictions
- An amendment to the city’s noise ordinance that would restrict some street performers from major stretches of certain downtown streets is not expected to pass the upcoming City Council vote
- The amendment has been stalled due to litigation threats from ACLU

- CPD provided a Community Alert bulletin regarding multiple motor vehicle thefts and vehicle break-ins in both the 1st and 18th districts
- Streeterville and River North experiencing vehicle thefts from valet services and garages. Thieves are taking advantage of keys being left in vehicles by valet services

- CFD has issued over 200+ new fire safety director certifications.
- If an FSD transfers buildings they need to recertify
- CFD is looking for buildings to host the FSD classes and can tailor a class for a group from a particular organization.
- CP3 is working to resolve its website issues. They will also be receiving funds that will allow them to upgrade and enhance service and are looking for any feedback on what that could be.
