Chicago and Cook County have a scheduled minimum wage increase on July 1, 2018. Employers who are covered by the Chicago or Cook County Minimum Wage Ordinance should make sure they are aware of this change.
Chicago employers are required to issue a notice to all employees about the increase that must be given with the first paycheck after July 1, 2018.
The Cook County Minimum Wage Ordinance does not apply to all municipalities, as some have opted out.
- Chicago employees $12.00
- Chicago tipped employees $6.25
- Cook County employees $11.00
- Cook County tipped employees $5.10
The next minimum wage increase will take place on July 1, 2019, raising the minimum wage in Chicago to $13.00.
